S. Monique Summers

President

S. Monique Summers, a proud U.S. Air Force veteran, dedicated six years to active duty before transitioning to the Air Force Reserve Command to complete her B.A. at the University of Utah.

During her time as a student, she faced unforeseen financial hurdles, sparking a profound realization: "If I am undergoing these obstacles, how can I bridge the gap to ease that burden for my fellow veterans?" This pivotal question led to the creation of the Heroes Initiative; a non-profit organization dedicated to bridging critical financial gaps for veterans pursuing higher education.

Monique brings a unique blend of strategic acumen and disciplined leadership to Heroes-Initiative, honed through her experience as a successful business owner. Her entrepreneurial spirit and deep understanding of operational excellence directly fuel her unwavering commitment to serving the veteran community.

Throughout her distinguished career, Monique has consistently demonstrated a servant leadership approach, driven by an open mind and a commitment to solutions that deliver value for all. Her impactful accomplishments include pioneering the first-ever Pass and ID Policy Section during deployment and unifying joint forces for seamless mission execution in complex international environments. As the inaugural Operations NCOIC for her U.S. Air Force Reserve squadron, she established its first Standards and Evaluation program, setting new benchmarks for operational excellence.

Her strategic approach and ability to navigate diverse environments are further strengthened by her academic foundation, a B.A. in International Studies with a focus on Spanish, which empowers her to foster understanding and build bridges—a skill invaluable to both her business endeavors and the Heroes-Initiative's mission.
