Maegan-Ann Baptista
Vice President

Maegan-Ann Baptista is a dedicated advocate for veterans, driven by a passion to empower those who have served their country through the transformative power of continuous education. As a proud U.S. Air Force veteran, she served seven years of active duty from 2015 to 2022 as a Security Forces member and Military Working Dog handler. During her time as a MWD handler, she developed critical skills in discipline, leadership, and resilience.
After transitioning to civilian life, Maegan faced challenges in the workforce. This led to a renewed focus on education as a pathway to personal growth and finding a new purpose outside of the military. However, balancing school and financial responsibilities proved difficult, inspiring a deeper understanding of the struggles many veterans face in pursuit of higher education.
Maegan’s relatability to the obstacles veterans face in their pursuit of higher education led her to the transformative partnership and position she holds with Heroes-Initiative today. Heroes-Initiative allows her to share her story of tribulations to help her fellow veterans gain the resilience they need to keep moving forward.
Currently involved in Industrial Security and Business Development, Maegan serves as the Vice President of Heroes-Initiative, a mission-driven organization committed to supporting veterans in achieving their academic and professional goals. Through this role, she works tirelessly to help veterans invest in themselves, find their new purpose, and navigate the journey to a fulfilling future.
“It’s time to take care of you” is her guiding principle behind this commitment to uplift and empower those who have served.
